Villa Entre Sueños, whose name is Spanish for Villa Between Dreams, was built for entertaining a large family in San Miguel de Allende, a city in Mexico’s central highlands with a booming luxury real estate market.
Perched high on a hill on a gated cul-de-sac, the residence, which was built in 1998 and remodeled and expanded in 2003, offers commanding vistas of the city.
“The house is an architectural jewel,”” said Carolina Echeverría of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colonial Homes San Miguel, who listed the property in September 2021. “It has high-end materials and was designed by Manual Barbosa, a very famous architect from the city.””

The seller, entrepreneur/businessman Goerdt Abel, said that he and his wife, Maria, who died two years ago, “custom built this estate to accommodate our family. We also wanted to support the community and provide a location for entertaining and hosting community events.””
Mr. Abel, who is in his 70s, noted that the compound played host to a number of local NGOs over the last two decades.
